When I was roughly two rounds of revisions into my newly released book, Intuitive Writing: The Remedy for Writer’s Block and the Secret to Authentic Communication, an editor suggested I included more stories.
“Great, I’m a writer; I can do that.”
But I didn’t want all the stories to be about me. That’s boring. And really, I’d shared so many of them over the years with a decade of blogging and even a memoir.
So I tapped my audience for stories.
Right away, a few people came to mind. My writing community members and clients often shared stories about people who either encouraged or hindered their creativity.
They generously shared their stories for me to include in the book.
We know that a story is only helpful when shared, and everyone was grateful for the opportunity to share. Some people who contributed stories preferred to use a pseudonym, and others insisted on using their real names.
To bring the stories from Intuitive Writing to life, I wanted to chat with Malana, whose story touched many hearts (as told by my beta readers).
You’ll love how she introduces herself as a “lifelong writer.”
I received early beta reader feedback saying that Malana’s story was powerful. If you found her story inspiring, you’ll love the additional stories in the book.
Malana’s not the only one who says that writing saved her life.
Notes:
You’ll hear morning pages mentioned come up a lot — here’s my take

Thank you for the interview and for inviting me to contribute to Intuitive Writing! It's an honor to be a part of your newest book! 💜
